That scream you just heard? New Camaro owner or Camaro fanatic who saw what was done to this new Camaro, deliberately.

Found on http://alexandremachado.blogspot.com/2011/05/camaro-rat-rod.html

who found it on Jalopnik who had this article from Justin Hyde:

There are hot rods. There are rat rods. Then there's this: A new Camaro SS that's been speed-rusted and deglossed into junkyard condition while getting a 1,000-hp supercharged engine — and it only cost $150,000.
Long Island hot rodders Dave Sherer and Anthony Musilli often show off their well-restored rides during Hot Rod magazine's annual Power Tour. For this year tour with the 2010 Camaro's owner Bill Rombauts, Sherer said they wanted something no one would expect.

"Because no one else has the balls to do it," Sherer told Jalopnik. "Everyone else is making them clean."

The exterior took about a week of non-stop labor to transform from showcar state to Craigslist concours. Beyond just grinding off paint, the team rubbed salt on the open metal to speed rust, repainted and sanded some areas for better colors, and kicked dents into the trim for that put-away-wet look. The hood is slightly misaligned, the badges are off and the grille's broken.

2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition
Chevrolet unveiled a high-performance vehicle most sports car enthusiasts would go crazy for. GM presented the most powerful Camaro ever build. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 makes its official debut at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. The ZL1 brings the Camaro line to greater heights with higher performance charged by V-8 engine generating approximately 550 horsepower.

The central goal of the 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition’s development was creating something new –a Camaro intended to reach optimal lap times on top road-racing circuits and excellent driving dynamics on the street. To achieve that goal, engineers evolved many of the existing Camaro’s systems, as well as incorporated new technologies such as electric power steering and Magnetic Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension system.
2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition
Camaro ZL1 is about high-tech performance and design, and is a type of car no one has ever brought to this segment previously,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. “It’s the most technically advanced Camaro ever, so we’ve chosen a name from the most elite and exclusive Camaro in history.”
The 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition name is derived from the all-aluminum racing engine of the same name, which was developed in the late 1960s and installed into a handful of regular-production 1969 Camaros. Only 69 were built with the engine, but they’ve achieved mythical status among enthusiasts, as they represented the pinnacle in Camaro performance – until now. The 2012 ZL1 model is designed to be a major leap forward for the Camaro Chevrolet Sports Cars, bringing anew level of performance capability to the segment.
2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition is equipped with a revolutionary new suspension system includes Magnetic Ride Control and electric power steering. The braking system is Brembo with dimensions of 14.6in. (370 mm.) front and 14.4 inches (365 mm.) rear.

Inside, the 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition has heated leather seats with microfiber inserts and ZL1 logos embroidered on the front headrests. Microfiber suede is repeated as an accent on the instrument panel, adding a richer look to the interior.
Interior – 2012 Chevrolet Sports Cars Camaro ZL1 Edition is tailored for high-performance driving. The front seats feature microfiber suede inserts. Other enhancements includea redesigned steering wheel, alloy pedals, Head-Up Display with unique performance readouts and the “four-pack” auxiliary gauge system featuring a boost readout.

Engineers have already driven Camaro ZL1 prototypes extensively at demanding road courses in the U.S. and Germany, with final testing being completed through the balance of 2011. Development ongoing, targeting launch at the beginning of 2012.
