The 1960's Fiat Abarth 600, cooling problem, speed solution
The Abarth team was given the problem of making the Fiat 600 faster, but after putting the exhaust on it, they couldn't close the engine cover (is it a hod when the engine is behind the rear tires?) because the engine would overheat. So they propped open the engine cover.
So they tested it anyway, and learned that the car was 11 kph faster with the engine cover propped open (of course the maxed out engine helped too!)

2012 Fiat 500C
Fiat 500C newly introduced can not be a convertible in the true sense of the word, but the Italian company that holds the fate of Chrysler is hoping to attract the attention of sun-seeking guests with its panoramic canvas over Mini, which has its American debut at the 2011 weeks at New York Auto Show.
2012 Fiat 500CScheduled to go on sale in May, the new 500C 2012 will be offered two levels of output, Pop single is priced at $ 19,500 and better-equipped lounge, the price is $ 23,500. Fiat 500C is a four-seater convertible in the U.S. market. Fiat, however, the definition of "convertible" is vague to say the least because the 500C becomes full-size doors, and columns by simply adding a sheet of rollovers in place of the metal roof.
2012 Fiat 500CThe basic version gives you a power soft top, manual transmission, steel wheels 15-inch, seven airbags, air conditioning, AM/FM/CD/MP3 radio with auxiliary audio input, tail 'chrome exhaust, power windows and door locks, heated mirrors, speed control, Blue & Me technology hands-free communication with the USB port, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. Correspondent with 500 tin-top is priced at $ 15.500.

2012 Fiat 500C Priced from $19,500
Scheduled to go on sale this May, the new 2012 500C will be offered in two trim levels, the base Pop that is priced at $19,500, and the better-equipped Lounge, priced at $23,500. According to Fiat, the 500C is the only four-seat cabrio in the U.S. market. However, Fiat’s definition of a ‘cabrio’ is loose -to say the least- given that the 500C comes with full frame doors and columns, simply adding a rollover canvas top in place of the metal roof.
The base version will get you a power cloth top, manual transmission, 15-inch steel wheels, seven standard air bags, air conditioning, AM/FM/CD/MP3 radio with auxiliary audio input, chromed exhaust tip, power windows and door locks, power heated mirrors, speed control, BLUE&ME Handsfree Communication technology with USB port, and leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. The similarly equipped tin-top 500 is priced at $15,500.
The more premium Lounge model adds several features on top of those found on the Pop, including the a six-speed automatic transmission, front- and rear-fascia chromed accents, chromed mirror caps, fog lamps, 15-inch alloys, premium cloth seats, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, automatic climate control, and BOSE Energy Efficient Series audio system with six premium speakers and subwoofer and security alarm.

Ford CEO Believes that Fiat 500 Won’t Succeed in the USA
Even though Mulally did not elaborate, it is believed that his reference to “failure” was aimed at Dailmer’s Smart ForTwo which saw its U.S. sales plummet from 24,622 cars in 2008 to a mere 5,927 units last year.
The Chrysler Group recently celebrated the the production launch of the American market Fiat 500 at the Detroit firm's Toluca plant in Mexico. The starting MSRP for the Italian mini, which is offered with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder producing 101HP, is $15,550.
