Pontiac G8 Bad News/Good News/Bad News

Bad News: The Pontiac G8 bit the dust with GM's bankruptcy along with the rest of Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Hummer & Saab. It was the best looking 4-door from GM in decades and it could compete with BMW.

Good News: The G8 is actually from GM's Australian Holden Division and is being reintroduced to the USA as we speak as a Chevrolet Caprice!

Bad News:  The new Caprice is ONLY available for fleet purchase as the Caprice PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle.) So if you really want one, be ready to fight cabbies over it in a few years and we hope you like black and white.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Color Change

Maaco-Fremont's car of the day is a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The paint was old & faded and the plastic body mouldings were weatherbeaten. The owner decided that spending a little to change the color and fix some dents was a lot cheaper than buying a new Jeep. The images don't do the SUV justice. The color she chose looks spectacular: DuPont C939 "Bright Silver Sparkle Effect."

2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser Two-Tone Paint Job

Maaco Fremont's car of the day is a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser. This customer wanted to give his Cruiser a new look, he was thinking of a color change to silver but he also liked the original black. His wife asked Maaco Fremont if we could make the car two-toned, silver on top and black on bottom to match his favorite Bay Area football team. We must say this PT Cruiser looks awesome.

1974 Plymouth Duster with Auto Bodywork and Complete color change

Today's Car of the Day is a 1974 Plymouth Duster that came in with dings on the hood, and chips and scratches around the entire car. Maaco-Fremont repaired the dings and sanded the chips and scratches on the car, and apply primer-sealer. The owner did not like the color on the car and wanted a darker color. He had us paint it a gun metal pearl in single stage paint service. Maaco-Fremont also sanded the door jambs and under the hood and under the trunk jambs for a complete color change.

Boat Trailer? Sure, What Else You Got?

Today's Car of the Day isn't a car at all. The boat trailer was chipped-up, rust was taking root and purple just didn't seem as cool as it once did. So the owner had Maaco repaint it black.

My Car is Boring! I Want Something More Cheerful!

That's what the owner of today's Car of the Day said to us. She said she needed to keep her current car for a few more years and wanted something more cheerful. So she decided to change her metallic beige car to bright, shiny red. We also covered-up a boo-boo that left her fender a different color from the rest of the car. When she dropped-off her car we gave her a ride to BART (for our readers who don't live nearby, that's Bay Area Rapid Transit, San Francisco Bay's train & subway system) and picked her up again when the job was complete. She was a lot of fun to work with and we hope she's very happy with her "new" car.
