2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser Two-Tone Paint Job

Maaco Fremont's car of the day is a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser. This customer wanted to give his Cruiser a new look, he was thinking of a color change to silver but he also liked the original black. His wife asked Maaco Fremont if we could make the car two-toned, silver on top and black on bottom to match his favorite Bay Area football team. We must say this PT Cruiser looks awesome.

Getting the Most Out of Your Car

The Allen Swift 1928 Rolls Royce Phantom I Picadilly Roadster
Mr. Allen Swift knew how to take care of a car. He drove the same one from 1928 until his death at 102 years old in 2005. This is the longest car ownership we have ever heard of and we think must be the world record. When he died, he left the car to the Springfield History Museum, along with $1 million to buy a new building. Shows what you can do if you save your money instead of buying a new car!

The car itself, even without its special history, is an amazing vehicle. It is a Rolls Royce Phantom I Picadilly Roadster, serial number S273 FP. It is one of the few Rolls Royces made in the USA in Springfield Massachusetts between 1921 and 1931, a "Springfield Rolls,"

Swift drove the car for over 80 years and museum directors say that it still runs well and very quietly after 170 thousand miles. In later years it mainly did parade duty. The car was originally a gift from Swift's father in return for giving up college to stay with the family business.

The car was repainted in 1988 by Automotive Restorations, Inc. and Swift, already 85, drove it home with the top down.

Car of the Day - 1991 Chevrolet S10 Pick-up truck with 2-tone paint job

Today's car of the day is a 1991 Chevrolet pick-up truck that came in for a 2-tone paint service with single stage paint. Maaco-Fremont sanded and painted the entire truck with the original colors used by the manufacturer. Maaco-Fremont painted the entire truck the red color first and allowed for the paint to cure for 3 weeks before painting the white parts. Single stage paint services require a wait of several weeks for paint to cure before sanding the surface and masking (covering) the areas not to be painted. This process can save hundreds of dollars and the results are well worth it. This process can also be done all at the same time if a 2-stage paint service is done instead of single stage, but will cost a little more.
