2011 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR

Flying Lizard unveiled a remembrance livery for the No. 80 and No. 81 Flying Lizard Porsches for the 2011 24 Heures du Mans. Created by California-based artist Troy Lee, the livery celebrates the history of Porsche at Le Mans, featuring the 28 drivers who have won the 24 Heures du Mans overall in a Porsche. The No. 80 and No. 81 designs are the same, implemented in complementary colors: candy metallic orange for the No. 80 and candy metallic blue for the No. 81; both anchored by a deep ocean blue. Primary colors offer a backdrop for the driver names and flags which weave throughout the design on the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.

2011 Gumpert Tornante by Touring

When selecting the partner for the new model’s body design, Gumpert recognised that stylishness is part of the genetic code of Touring Superleggera’s creations. Even more amazingly, the paradigm of elegance was practical by Touring to the race cars too. This characteristic approach was at the basis of many masterpieces, like the 1940 Mille Miglia winner BMW 328 Berlinetta, the Ferrari 166 and 340 and the stirring Alfa Romeo 8C2900. They all were redoubtable race machines with singular grace.

The Gumpert Tornante has the genes of the Gumpert apollo and inherits its imposing V8 biturbo engine. Weighing only 196 kg, the engine plays a major role in ensuring the perfect weight and the fascinating driving dynamics of the Tornante. An angle of 90° flanked by the two cylinder banks is a sign of a classic 8-cylinder engine.

Starting from the pure block from Audi, the engine is a total in-house development. Thus, the manufacturing process contains among others all the moving parts, air and fuel management, turbo chargers, charge air-duct and dry sump lubrication. In the essential version this engine delivers 700 HP. In comparison to the apollo, the configuration will be optimized for the Fast Touring mission. This means more comfort and more fitness for daily use.

Alongside the V8 power unit, an option powered Gumpert Tornante is also planned for 2012.

2012 Porsche Cayman S Black Edition

The Porsche Cayman S Black Edition comes with a 3.4-litre flat-six engine tuned to deliver 330 hp. The extra power is shaped at 7,400 rpm (an additional 200 rpm vs the standard car), while the maximum torque remains unaffected at 370Nm at 4,750 rpm. Acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) is improved by a tenth of a second to 5.1 seconds with the six-speed manual conduction, and to 5.0 seconds with the optional Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) respectively. With the Launch Control activated on the PDK Sport Chrono package option, acceleration improves further to 4.8 seconds.

The top speed of the Porsche Cayman S Black version is just over one mph faster than that of the Cayman S – 173 mph (279 km/h) with the physical transmission and 172 mph (277 km/h) with PDK. In line with the Porsche Intelligent show principles, fuel consumption of the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition remains the same to that of the standard car, despite the increase in horsepower. The Porsche Cayman S Black Edition with manual transmission returns 29.7mpg Combined, and 30.1mpg joint with PDK. Likewise, CO2 remains 223g/km for the manual and 221g/km for the PDK.

PIECHA Design has unveiled a new tuning programme for the new Mercedes-Benz SLK R172. And thus, they present the “Accurian RS”, a sporty, elegant understanding of the Stuttgart-based roadster. Piecha gives the new, more distinct front of the SLK an Accurian RS front spoiler lip with lateral grids. The lip can be joint with a cover, which turns the grid into a three-part piece and further emphasises the LED daytime running lights on the right and left side. For a quieter airflow around the lateral body of the new SLK, PIECHA Design installed a set of Accurian RS side skirt covers. The covers are bonded easily and positively on the original side skirts. Furthermore, the opposite installed grids provide for a more prominent design. For all R172 models, no matter whether with the side skirts, the AMG or also the Accurian RS sills, PIECHA Design offers per side four LED buried spotlights each.

In the front in 8.5×19 ET25 with 225/35 R19 and in the back in elective 9.5 or 10.5×19 with 255 or 275/30 R19, the MP1 monobloc wheel provides in connection with 25 mm lowering springs for a perfect wedge shape.

NOVITEC has released a new performance package for Alfa Romeo 8C Spider. Power production of the Alfa Romeo 8C, Coupe and Spider, jumps to 600 hp thanks to a high-tech supercharger system. Top speed grows to 190 mph. In addition, the tuner offers a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system, a custom-tailored tire/wheel combination with 21- and 22-inch diameters and a height-adjustable sport suspension.

The limited-edition sports car is based on the technology of the Maserati GT. For this reason NOVITEC modified a development by sister company NOVITEC TRIDENTE, which specializes in alteration the models carrying the trident emblem, to the 8C. The high-tech supercharger conversion for the 4.7-liter V8 was customized to fit into the space under the hood of the Alfa Romeo 8C.

The compressor adaptation, which sells for EUR 19,900, boosts power output of the 450-hp stock V8 by 150 hp. The maximum rated power output of 600 hp is available at 7,300 rpm. Peak torque jumps to 434 lb/ft torque at 5,400 rpm. The sprint from rest to 62 mph is abridged to just 3.9 seconds. Top speed increases from standard 180 mph to 190 mph.

While the body of the 8C Coupe or Spider remains unaffected, NOVITEC adds some thrilling highlights to the appearance of the two-seater with three-piece NA3 wheels. To further highlight the wedge-shape design of the 8C, the specialists chose a spread out combination with 21-inch diameter in front and 22 inches on the rear axle. The alloy wheels feature five double spokes and are obtainable in any desired color. In sizes 9×21” and 11.5×22” they fill out the available space in the wheel wells completely. The matching high-performance tires are complete by Formula 1 supplier Pirelli in sizes 255/30 ZR 21 and 315/25 ZR 22.
